Diversity Awareness- What you need to know

Being diverse is a positive strategic approach for all organisations. It improves equality of opportunity for workers benefiting from working in areas of diverse cultures, skills, experiences. Diversity offers many benefits which includes increased confidence and morals in a working environment

AIMS:The aims of this course are to help participant understand what diversity is and that diversity is not based around culture but based on people. The course helps participant to explore the differences in people and how we are have all work differently and have our own goals and agendas. The course enable people in the work place break down barriers to improve in their individual work place but also help companies be more productive.

Outcomes/Goals

At the end of the course each participant should be able to:

Have an expectancy that we are all different and that we all complete tasks differently.
That misconceptions of each other creates barriers in communications.
That we are responsible for our actions towards this.
Culture is not diversity but people!
They recognize and respect the inherent value of each individual.
They encourage the growth and development of people in all respects, including capabilities, ideas, interests, goals, and perspectives.
They capitalize on the diverse contributions that derive from differences among people.

At the end of course the organisation will identify how to develop a team that can work and cooperate together and are:-

Sensitive to the needs and preferences of other employees and work units.
Are able to cultivate cooperative working relationships.
Are able to capitalize on the synergy of collaborated efforts.
Are able to offer mediation to resolve conflicts.
Are able to develop action plans to improve relationships.

Diversity and Recruitment

Aims: To break down preconception ideas that recruits might have regarding your organisation. This means highlighting the positive aspects of your organisation and having clear and concise guidelines when employing a diverse work force

Perceptual intelligence - Understanding Cultures

This course is designed to break down misconceptions of race and culture. It can focus on specific culture group only or a range of groups. Benefits of understanding each different cultural group.
